There is no “right” way to say goodbye.
Some families want a chapel filled with flowers and familiar hymns.
Others choose beaches, gardens, clubrooms or backyards.
Some prefer quiet reflection. Others want storytelling, music and laughter.
Our role is not to direct your farewell, it’s to help shape it around the person you are honouring.
We can support you with:
Traditional burial services
Cremation services
Personalised memorials
Livestreaming for loved ones afar
Pre-planning and documentation
Cultural and faith-based ceremonies
Aftercare and grief support
But more importantly, we help you create something meaningful.
Throughout time, funerals have played a crucial role in helping us to say goodbye, while also connecting us with the loving support of friends and family.
Planning and attending a meaningful funeral can have a lasting and profound impact on peoples lives and the way they grieve. We know how difficult and daunting it can all feel when someone you love dies, especially if you’re also responsible for arranging the funeral.
Our family care team will guide you every step of the way, from washing and dressing, discussing visitations, through to ceremony and rituals, whether private or very public.
Wse believe each component should be personal, meaningful and memorable. So, whether you decide on a small and intimate gathering with close family and friends, a large service in a church or favourite venue, a tangi at your marae, or in the garden at home, the options are endless and often only limited by imagination (and of course, your budget).
We don’t do packages, but to assist we have listed examples of our services to guide you through the choices we can provide.
We refine the options that best suit your need (and budget) when we meet.

An unattended cremation is also known as a ‘direct cremation‘.
We will gently transfer the person who has died into our care and look after them with dignity every step of the way. They will be placed in a simple casket or wrapped in a plain white shroud ready for cremation.
We’ll take care of all the necessary paperwork and guide everything quietly behind the scenes, so there’s nothing too cumbersome for you to manage during this time.
There is no viewing available with this experience, but you are welcome to spend as much time saying goodbye prior to taking the deceased into our care.
On the day, we will transport them to the crematoria. The cremation will take place without attendees, at a date and time chosen by the us (but you will always know when that is).
Our staff will be there throughout the entire process, ensuring everything is handled with care and respect. After the cremation, we will collect the ashes and return them to you.

For those seeking a more affordable funeral experience, our Essential Care experience is the ideal choice.
We will gently transfer the person who has died into our care and look after them with dignity and respect throughout. They will be placed in a simple casket and lovingly dressed in their own clothes, just as you remember them.
We’ll take care of all the necessary documentation and guide you through what’s required, easing the practical burden during this time.
You’re welcome to visit them at our premises, offering a quiet moment to say goodbye in your own way. We will also support you to create a small, intimate, family-led service that feels personal and meaningful.
On the day, we will transport them to the crematoria. The coffin will be in place before guests arrive, allowing the service to begin calmly and without rush. The service itself will be a shorter 20-minute farewell.
Our staff will be present throughout the funeral, ensuring everything runs smoothly and respectfully. After the cremation, we will collect the ashes and return them to you.

A cremation funeral service is a meaningful way to gather, remember, and celebrate a life before cremation has taken place. Like any funeral, it provides a time for family and friends to come together, share memories, and acknowledge the significance of a life lived.
Cremation offers flexibility in how the service is held. The ceremony may take place in a chapel, a church, outdoors, or another place that reflects the person being remembered.
Each service can be personalised with music, readings, tributes, photos, cultural traditions, or symbolic moments that reflect the individual’s story and the relationships they shared.
A cremation funeral service provides space for connection, remembrance, and farewell, helping families honour a life in a way that feels personal, respectful, and meaningful.
We offer the family to attend a committal service at the crematoria as a moment for a final intimate goodbye.

As with the Bespoke Cremation Service, A Bespoke Burial Service is conducted either at the graveside, urupa, or with a service at a venue or location of your choice beforehand.
Everything we do is tailored to the families needs and we personalise the service to honour your loved one.
We are able to help you with the purchase of a plot and interment application and can advise on eco-friendly options such as natural burials.

A cremation or burial is undertaken immediately following a death and generally private to immediate family.
We take the deceased into our care, where they are washed and dressed and placed in a casket of your choice with time given for viewing and saying a private goodbye.
At a later date, we help the family create a fitting memorial service at a venue of choice which may include a celebrant, music, photo tributes and livestreaming.
The memorial service creates the space for families to process their initial grief without the pressure of plannng and attending a funeral within days of a loved one’s death, which for some can be overwhelming. For others it gives the space for family who are away from the area to come home and say their goodbyes without the haste of the immediate funeral.

Carefully designed to offer a simple, natural, and meaningful farewell. For many people, natural funerals are a new way of thinking about saying goodbye, and we gently guide you through each step so you feel informed, comfortable, and supported in your choices.
This may include caring for your loved one without chemical embalming, using natural or biodegradable materials, and allowing for a more personal, hands-on approach if that feels right. We offer a carefully selected range of natural products, including wicker or timber caskets, cotton shrouds, and eco-friendly materials that return gently to the earth, while maintaining dignity and respect.
Whether you’re choosing a fully eco-friendly burial at Oak Meadow (Mangaroa Natural Cemetery) or incorporating natural elements into a service, each package provides clear guidance, thoughtful care, and transparent pricing. Our role is to make the process feel simple and supported, so you can focus on honouring life in a way that feels personal, respectful, and genuine.

A living funeral is a contemporary way to celebrate a life while the person is still present to experience it. Instead of gathering only after someone has died, family and friends come together to honour, acknowledge, and share meaningful moments together now.
Often called a living wake or living celebration, these gatherings create space for gratitude, storytelling, laughter, and reflection. Loved ones can express the words that are often left unsaid and share memories in a way that feels deeply personal and affirming.
There are no fixed rules. Just like a traditional funeral, a living funeral might include music, readings, tributes, cultural rituals, or shared hospitality in a place that feels special and as importantly, involved for the person being honoured.
Many people find that holding a living funeral brings a sense of peace and appreciation for life, an opportunity to celebrate a life, relationships, and what truly matters, together.
When you meet with a member of our family care team, we’ll work with you to clarify your wishes. We will ask about your loved one to gain a more intimate understanding of the person we will honour. This is an important time for you to communicate your ideas and preferences, to share your loved one’s life story, revisit memories, and highlight their accomplishments. We will use this information to create a personalised, meaningful celebration of a life.
We welcome any questions that you may have about what may be possible. Don’t be afraid to ask. We’ve arranged so many different types of funerals and we love doing all we can to help make extraordinary and memorable moments happen.
We will also ask for information that will be required for Birth, Deaths and Marriages in order to file for a Death Certificate. Gathering this information ahead of time helps reduce stress at the time of passing.
